Library update May 2014

Well, the first five months of 2014 have been incredibly busy in the library.  Our new self-check system is now online, tagging of the completion is almost complete, and we're still working on the email notifications.

Donations of books have been flowing into the library: just this week, the library received over 160 books and 360 magazines from Arts SA and 32 books from student Madhu Saraf - many thanks to both Arts SA and Madhu.

We have also been pruning the collection to make way for the donated books by removing duplicate copies that are excess to our needs and out-of-date or damaged books.  We've had one impromptu book sale and will have another (not so impromptu) later in the year.  In the meantime, if you would like to have a look at the few remaining books we currently have for sale, come and visit the library.  Books are sold for $2 each and the proceeds go to buying books on our acquisitions list - four have already been ordered with the proceeds of our first small book sale.

Most of the books donated by the Art Gallery of South Australia Research Library have now been accessioned and are available to borrow.

News of new additions are now posted outside the library near the computers and back-issues of Artlink are also available on the stand.

Cheers!
